Mrs Hornsby and Miss Telford. Raumati. are visiting Masterton. Mis's Beiliss. Pownall Street. Masterton, who has been staying with Mrs J. Laing,. Wainuioru, has returned to Masterton. Mrs A. Henson, First Street, Lansdowne. and her sister Mrs D. Riggs,' Ngaio, have been the guests of their Sister, Mrss M. Fergan, Foxton, for the holidays. Mrs Henson will spend a few days at Ngaio before returning home. The death occurred at Fairfield, Waipawa, Hawke’s Bay, on December 30 of the widow of the late John Charles Standidge, in her 90th year. She was one of the settlers who came to New Zealand in the sailing ship Zealandia. They landed at Lyttelton in September. 1858. Mrs Standidge was a resident of Wellington for 15 years, and had thereafter lived till her death at Waipawa. She had two sons and eight daughters. The children who survive are:—F. C. Standidge. Wellington: Mrs L. Booth, Mrs J. Williams. Waipawa; Mrs E. A. Banks, Island Bay: Mrs H. W. Kelly, Melbourne; Mrs G. P. H. Davidson. Kelburn; Mrs Somerset Playne. England; and Miss Standidge. Waipawa.
