WEDDING
URQUHART-YATES. A quiet wedding took place at the Knox Church, Masterton, on Saturday, when Vivian Mary, only daughter of Mrs J. C. Judd (Masterton) and the late Mr C. V. Yates, was married to John Matheson Urquhart, only son of Mr and Mrs A. Urquhart, of Khandallah, Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev John Davie, and Mr C. W. Kerry presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her step-father. Mr J. C. Judd, was attired in a blue model frock, with a leghorn hat and carried a bouquet to tone. The bride was attended by Miss Catherine Urquhart (sister of the bridegroom), who wore a mauve model frock with a hat to match. She carried a bouquet of toning colours. The best man was Mr J. B. MacPherson (Masterton). The reception was held at the bride’s residence, Essex Street, Masterton, where Mrs Judd received a large number of guests. She was attired in a black sheer frock with a fox fur cape and black hat, and carried a bouquet to match. Mrs Urquhart wore a black model frock and carried a bouquet. Mrs Berry (grandmother of the bride) wore a navy blue frock, with a hat to match. When Mr and Mrs Urquhart left on a tour of the North Island, the bride was attired in a floral frock with a cream coat and turban to match. Telegrams were received from various parts of New Zealand. A large number of presents were received. Mr and Mrs Urquhart will reside at Opunake.
