ANNUAL SPORTS VERY SUCCESSFUL GATHERING ' HIGH STANDARD IN DANCING AND PIPING. Fine weather yesterday favoured the Wairarapa Caledonian Society’s sixty-second annual gathering in the Masterton Park. The attendance was less than last year. A splendid programme of dancing, piping, running, cycling and field events kept everyone well entertained. The North Island championship Sean Triubhais for competitors of 16 years and over was won by Miss A. Burnette, of Wellington, who also won the sword dance and Highland fling. A high standard was reached in both the dancing and. piping events. The athletic and cycling contests were well congested. The crowd was on its toes with excitement when witnessing the cycling events in which there were some thrilling finishes. The district championship over one mile was won for the second time by K.
