TRIBAL FIGHTING
SEVERAL ABORIGINES SPEARED TO DEATH TROUBLE IN ARNHEIM LAND. PATROL VESSEL DESPATCHED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) DARWIN, This Day. Several aborigines have been speared to death in fighting amongst tribes on the Arnheim Land coast, near Goulburn Island, 230 miles from Darwin. Further . outbreaks of fighting are feared. The number of victims is not known in Darwin but a report from the Goulburn Island Mission stated they were all old men, who had considerable influence among warring aborigines. A patrol vessel carrying a constable is speeding from Darwin to the island.
