An Invercargill man was subjected to a form of assault which was described by Inspector T. Gibson as "fortunately rare in this country, but common among the Sydney gangs. ’ The man had his face badly slashed by a razor and a warrant was issued for the arrest of the assailant. It is stated that a dispute occurred in premises in Esk Street, and a safety razor blade, with a special handle, was used. The man received a cut on the forehead, one on each cheek, end another across the chin. The man had to receive medical attention and the wounds had to be stitched. A man lias been arrested at Oamaru in connection with the offence.
