WITH WARTIME EFFICIENCY OF REICH SIGNIFICANCE OF RECENT TRAIN DISASTERS. DEATHS IN ONE DAY 231. The German official news agency now states that the death roll in the train disaster at Karlsruhe last Friday has mounted to 99. The combined death roll in the two train disasters on the same day is 231. The frequency of these disasters is commented on by the “New York Sun,” which states that they clearly indicate that there is something radically wrong with the wartime efficiency of the Reich. Those high up in the Nazis must realise their significance, says the paper, which adds that they presage a collapse of the German transport system.—By radio.
