FINNS CLAIM SUBSTANTIAL SUCCESS IN CENTRAL SECTOR
Heavy Losses Inflicted on Soviet Troops ANOTHER. ASSAULT ON MANNERHEIM LINE REPULSED RUSSIAN RESERVES BEING MOVED UP The Finns have now claimed that in the central sector, where the Russians were attempting to cut Finland in halt, the invaders were, forced back about 50 miles, stated a Daventrv broadcast this morning. This must have brought the Finns very near if not over the Rumanian frontier. ‘ The Russian casualties were very heavy, but reserves are being moved up in this sector; also in the north, where the Russians were compelled to retire in recent days. In the south, another Russian assault on the Mannerheim Line has been repulsed.
