SCARECROW DANCE
RAY BOLGER IN THE "WIZARD OF OZ." Creating an illusion of lacking a single joint in his' whole body, Ray Bolger's scarecrow dance in “The Wizard of Oz ’ has captured dancers as diverse as Balanchine and Paul Draper. In Ihe Scarecrow Dance he takes fails which would send any other man into hospital, and the routine, danced in a ragged, loose costume filled with straw, took' two months to prepare.
