MANAWATU

DAINTY SUE SUCCESSFUL. WIN FOR OLD BILL. PALMERSTON N., December 26. Despite smaller fields for the second day of the Manawatu Racing Club’s summer meeting at Awapuni today, the winners were harder to find and it was not till the last race of the day that a favourite was able to win. The principal event, the Louisson Memorial., was won by Dainty Sue and the seven furlong sprint was won by Old Bill, both races being well contested. There was an outstanding surprise by Myarion in the Trial Handicap, the dividend being more than three score. The weather was fine and warm with a wasterly breeze, and there was a large holiday crowd, but the totalisator again showed a sligh decrease, the fig-, ures for the day, £44.088, being £1269 10s less than last Boxing Day. The decrease for the two days is £1963 10s. The course was again in excellent order and fast. Results: —
