The Mangatainoka Amateur Athletic Society's fortieth annual sports gathering was held on the Mangatainoka Domain yesterday. There was a large attendance of spectators, and many competitors came from the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts. The weather was hot and tne track in splendid order. Some outstanding races were witnessed with several exciting finishes. The officials were as follows:—Patron, Mr R. A. Williams; president. Mr W. Fulton; secretary, Mr L. W.
