BOWLING TOURNEY ! 1 PROGRESSIVE PAIRS. ("Times-Age” Special.) Yesterday the Carterton Bowling Club held a progressive pairs tournament on the local green. Eight pairs competed and a most enjoyable time was spent on a perfect drawing green. Gordon Hughan won the skips competition, winning all his games. W. Nunn, of Waikaremoana, was the most successful lead, winning three games and losing one. In the Wellington Christmas rink tournament, which commenced yesterday, Thompson’s (Carterton) rink won The game in the morning against Ingram (Victoria), 22/18. In the second round Thompson lost to McWhannell. Rain stopped play in the afternoon. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs R. Nunn and family, of Waikaremoana, are spending a holiday in Carterton. Mr A. R. Steil'ert, of Whakatane. is home with his parents for the holidays.
