TENSE ATMOSPHERE
FEARS OF NAVAL BATTLE NEAR NORWAY MOVEMENTS OF GERMAN WARSHIPS. STATEMENT BY FOREIGN MINISTER. OSLO, December 26. The Foreign Minister, M. Koht. announced that “owing to the naval situation in (he North Sea, with a possibility of a British-German battle off Norwegian waters, the Christmas leave for Norway's army and navy is cancelled.” It was semi-officially stated in London on Friday that the German fleet lias left Hamburg, half moving to the I’altie Sea and half to the North Sea. via the Kiel Canal.
