TOUR BY HITLER
INSPECTION OF GERMAN LINES FRENCH FRONTIER CROSSED. PARCELS GIVEN TO SOLDIERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) BERLIN, December 26. It is officially stated that for the first time since 1918, Herr Hitler crossed the French frontier on December 24 near Saarbrucken, and toured the Spichern heights, which the Germans recaptured several weeks ago. Hitler passed through trenches in order to reach the heights. He inspected implacements in the front line. As Hitler left the sector, a German patrol slipped into the village of Spichern and rang in Christmas Eve on the church bells. The Fuehrer spent a further hour examining advanced posts in the Saarbrucken area and personally distributed parcels to soldiers. OFFER ACCEPTED. VILLA FOR WAR INVALIDS. (Received This Day. 10.55 a.rn.) ROME: December 26. Herr Hitler has accepted Frau Martha Selve’s offer of a villa at Zirio Sanremo, which she has placed at the disposal of German war invalids.
