READY FOR SACRIFICE

HERR HESS BROADCASTS “LOVE TO LEADER.” PEACE TALKS WHEN VICTORY IS SECURE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON. December 24. A message from Berlin states that the Reich had a Christmas broadcast which included a description of a visit by Herr Hitler to the Siegfried Line. Herr Hess sent a special message to the nation from a destroyer riding at anchor. General von Brauchitsch, from a pillbox in the Siegfried Line, also sent a message. Herr Hess, in his message, said:— “In this hour we send our strength, our common memories to all Germans abroad, who are spending Christmas behind barbed-wire in concentration camps, or laboriously fighting theii’ way back to the Fatherland. Our thoughts go to our fighters on all fronts and our gratitude and love to our Leader. He is surrounded completely by our love, but the more we surround him with our love, the greater is the hatred of others to us. Germany is prepared to sacrifice its present for its future. We greet the Fuehrer as the supreme commander of Germany’s finest soldiers. We can count on God's help only by fulfilling our duty, keeping our faith. Only when victory is secure can we talk pence."
