The Rev V. E. Winhall, of Upper Hutt, will attend the Anglican Boys’ Bible Class camp which is to be held at Wairarapa College during the week.

The death has occurred of Anthony Fokker, the aircraft designer, at the age of 49, reports a cablegram from New York. He was taken to hospital critically ill with pneumococcus meningitis.

Sapper E. Morris, of Eastbourne, Wellington, who has been spending his final leave prior to going overseas with the First Echelon, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, with his parents. Mr and Mrs W. Morris. Sussex Street. Masterton, left today for his home at Eastbourne, prior to returning to Papakura Military Camp. Members of the local Power Board staff and the Masterton Football Club entertained Mr R. Prout at a social evening at the residence of Mr and Mrs T. Prout, Bentley Street, and made him a presentation. A very enjovable time was spent. Mr R. Prout is’attached to the flying force at Blenheim and is to leave in the near luture for Canada.

The Minister of Education and Health, Mi' P. Fraser, returned to Wellington yesterday, after attending the conference of British and Dominion Ministers in London. He was met on arrival by the Minister of Finance. Mr Nash, the Minister of Defence. Mr Jones, the Minister of Lands. Mr Langstone. the Chief of the General Staff. Major-General J. E. Duigan. the Chief of the Naval Staff. Commodore H. E. Horan, R.N.. and the Chief of the Air Staff, Group Captain H. W. L. Saunders.

It was officially announced last night that in response to a request from His Majesty’s Government in New Zealand, the Marquis of Willingdon. G.C.5.1., G.C.M.G.. G.C.1.E.. C.8.E., had been invited to represent the United Kingdom Government during the Centennial celebrations which are to be held in New Zealand next year. He will be accompanied by the Marchioness of Willingdon. Lord and Lady Willingdon will arrive in New Zealand in time to attend the celebrations in the early part of 1940.
