BEAR & BEAVERS
GIFT TO WELLINGTON ZOO. VANCOUVER. A playful, three-year-old bear and two sleek beavers are on their way to New Zealand as a gift from the Canadian National parks to the municipal zoo at Wellington, New' Zealand. A special diet has been prescribed for this consignment of Canadian animals. A supply of poplar wood accompanies the shipment. as the diet of each beaver includes four to six sticks per day, together with a quarter of a cabbage and four carrots. The sticks have to be removed when peeled. The daily diet of the young bear includes one pound of fresh apples, two loaves of bread, and a pound of carrots.
