CARTERTON SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report:—A small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday and was offered to a large attendance. All classes of stock sold well up to late rates and practically a total clearance was affected under the hammer at the following prices:— Sheep: Heavy fat lambs, 26s to 26s 4d; fat lambs, 19s to 22s 3d; fat woolly wethers, to 28s; fat shorn ewes, to 13s; fat shorn wethers. Io 20s; store lambs, to 12s 6d. Cattle: Fat cows, £4 to £5 2s; forward cows, £3 8s to £3 15s; store cows, £2 10s to £3;; cull cows. 30s to £2 3s; potter bulls, £5 15s to £G 6s. Tigs: Weaners (good). 17s to 19s 6d; weaners (medium). 12s (id to 16s (id; weaners (small). 7s to Ils; slips, 16s io 21s; store pigs. 23s to 265: light porkers, 28s to 345; porkers. 38s to £2 10s; baconers. £2 12s to £3 8s; choppers, to £2 ss.
