BIG WHEAT CROP

CANADIAN YIELD LARGEST FOR DECADE. WINNIPEG. Canada has harvested the largest wheat crop in over a decade, and as a direct result a mild building boom has developed in the Canadian Prairie Provinces in constructing additional storage facilities. The Canadian Press, news collecting agency, reports that approximately 320.000.000 bushels of wheal are now in storage in country elevators, and in lakehead and eastern terminals as compared with 176,000,000 bushels last year. In addition 200 new grain bins each of which has a capacity of 10.000 bushels have been erected in the heavier crop districts, and long-deserted out-buildings and barns have been patched up and reinforced to accommodate the additional surplus. Canada’s 1939 wheat crop has been estimated at 432.000.000 bushels.
