RUNNING THE HOUSEHOLD
BEAUTY FOR THE HOUSEWIFE. In these days of stress the position of housewife is just as important as any other career, for on her shoulders falls the successful running of the household. But sometimes, in her zeal, the housewife gives such pride of place to her home and is so justly proud of its spotless interior that she neglects her own personal appearance. You must try and discover a method of striking a happy medium so that you can divide pride of place between your home and yourself. Sometimes it is rather hard to do this, as very often you find that you simply have not the time to spare. Clothes and house-linen need repairs, children are sick. Cooking and cleaning have to "be done. It is so easy to fall into a neglectful state regarding oneself. And that is just where you start to fail in your career as housewife. Map out a plan so that beauty can still be carried on. Remember that cooking is rather hard on the face. The continual heat and steam makes the skin red and the pores enlarged, and the continual tasting of foods, more so if they are highly seasoned, will soon create excess poundage. Perhaps you have noticed that girls who are slender before marriage very often become quite sturdy when they have been married a few months. Usually this increase in weight can be attributed to better food and continual tasting. Therefore, if you desire to keep a youthful figure, avoid the habit of food tasting as much as is possible.
