WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. At the meeting of the management committee of the Wairarapa Cri .ket Association held in the secretary’s office there were.present Messrs P. G. Ramsay (in the chair). J. Logan. J. Renner, G. Peterson. G. V. Greer and the Secretary (Mr T. E. Handcock). Fixtures were arranged as follows:--January 6—Bidwill Cup, Old Boys v Red Star, at the Park: Darvill Shield, Star B v St Patricks Old Boys, at the Park; Old Boys v Martinborough, at the College, Star A v Odd Fellows at the College. The playing of representative games was discussed and disappointment was expressed that Hawke’s Bay had not invited Wairarapa to visit Napier during the holiday period. It was considered that it was too late to arrange other fixtures for the holidays. The secretary was instructed to write to Wanganui and Southern Hawke’s Bay with the object of endeavouring to arrange matches with those Associations early in the New Year. Mr P. G. Ramsay reported on the meeting with the Trust Lands Trust with regard to the proposed wickets at Memorial Park. With regard to matches that ended with the first innings of one side not being completed, it was decided that such a game should be regarded as a draw, each side to score two points. The championship points awarded are as follow: —Straight-out win. 8 points; win on first innings, 5 points; drawn game, 2 points each; tie, 4 points. Arrangements in connection with the Old Timers match were left over till the next meeting of the Association, which will be held early in the New Year.

“You pedestrians walk about as if you’d bought the street!" said the angry motorist. “Why not? You motorists drive about as if you'd paid for your cars."
