ATTACK ON GERMAN SHIP
BY SUPPOSED RUSSIAN SUBMARINE. STOCKHOLM. December 19. A submarine, believed to be Russian, fired 30 shells at the German steamer Pillau without registering a hit. FINNISH ENTERPRISE SMALL DETACHMENTS INVADE RUSSIA. HAVOC PLAYED WITH LINES OF COMMUNICATION. LONDON, December 19. The correspondent of “The Times'" in Helsinki reports that small detachments of Finns are reported to have penetrated from 30 to 40 miles into Russian territory in the region of Lake Kianta and to be playing havoc with the Soviet lines of communication. NO BOMBS DROPPED RUSSIAN PLANES AGAIN OVER HELSINKI. (Received This Day. 9.20 a.m.) HELSINKI, December 19. ’ Russian planes flew over the city, but no bombs were dropped.
