WATER SUPPLY AND BATHS
MASTERTON BOROUGH PROPOSALS. ATTITUDE OF LOANS BOARD. The requisite resolution was passed by the Masterton Borough Council last night to apply to lhe Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to raise a loan of £10,500 for the cleaning and concreting of the water mains from the reservoir to the borough. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, suggested that while the application was being made the board should be sounded on its attitude towards the swimming baths project. If the board were in favour of the proposal, a poll could then be taken at the same time on the two schemes. “I feel we have made a promise to the swimming people and feel that we should honour it,” said Mr Jordan in moving that a letter be sent to the Loans Board on the lines indicated. The motion was seconded by Councillor W. White and carried.
