ACHILLES PRAISED
PART IN RIVER PLATE ACTION CABLED CONGRATULATIONS. FROM ADMIRAL DRUMMOND AND LORD BLEDISLOE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Defence (Mr Jones) today received the following cablegrams commending the Achilles for her part in the sea conflict. From Lord Bledisloe: "Please convey my warmest congratulations on me magnificent exploit. The whole Empire feels proud." From Admiral Drummond, who formerly commanded the New Zealand Zealand Division of the Royal Navy: —"Heartiest congratulations to the New Zealand Division.”
