SOLDIER KILLED

FALL OVER CLIFF. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. December 16. Over-balancing and falling 20 feet on to the rocks below, a gunner stationed at Battery Point was killed almost instantaneously today. He was William David Burke. 74 Clyde Street. Invercargill, aged 20. Burke, who was alone at the time, was tipping rubbish over a cliff when he lost his balance and fell, striking his head on some rocks.
