MARTON SUMMER MEETING

NOMINATIONS ON MONDAY. On Monday, December 18. entries will close for all events at the Marton Jockey Club’s summer meeting on January I and 2. 1940. The programme is a very attractive one. the chief events on the first day being the Marton Cup. of £5OO, I', miles, and the Railway Handicap (Open), of £2OO, 6 furlongs. The hacks are catered for with a Maiden Race of £l2O. 0 furlongs. New Year Hack of £2OO. 9 furlongs, and Dash Hack of £l4O, 6 furlongs. There is also a Juvenile Handicap, for two-year-olds of £l6O. 5 furlongs, Rata Hack Hurdles of £l4O, 11 miles and a Ladies’ Bracelet (Hack conditions) of £l2O, including £lO trophy., for gentlemen riders. 9 furlongs. On the second day, the chief events are the Aidworth Stakes (Open) of £3OO. 9 furlongs, and Rangitikei Hack Cup of £275. 1} miles. There is also on the programme the Telegraph Handicap (Open) of £2OO, 6 furlongs, Junction Plate (for two and three-year-olds) of £l4O, 5 furlongs. Wairoma Hack of £l4O (for apprentice riders only) 7 furlongs, Ladies’ Necklace of £lO5 (same conditions as the Ladies’ Bracelet), the Tutaenui Hack Hurdles of £l4O. IJ, miles and the Farewell Hack of £l4O. 5 furlongs.
