The Hon P. C. Webb. Minister of Labour, is expected to return to Wellington tomorrow from the south. Captain R. J. M. Fowler, of Masterton, has been transferred from the Hauraki Regiment to be captain in the First Battalion, Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Pilot-Officer W. R. Watson, son of Mrs and the late Mr James Watson, of Masterton, has been appointed a staff officer as instructor in Blenheim bombers at a training school in England. At the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Sheepowners’ Federation, the president. Mr A. McDonald referred to the death of the late Mr O. H. Beetham. and a motion of sympathy was passed to his relatives. Mr A. 11. Heron. M.A.. who has for 15 years been on the staff' of the Wellington College, will take up his new position on the staff of the new Horowhenua College, next year. He is also an old boy of Wellington College. The appointments of the undermentioned Second Lieuts. ton probation) Third Cadet Battalion Hawke's Bay Regiment have been confirmed: Se-cond-Lieutenants W. Ball. H. H. Hollow and R. J. 11. Martin, all members of the Wairarapa College stuff. Mr M. M. Cooper. B.Agr.Sc.. B.Litt. tOxon). Diploma of Rural Economy (Oxon), and former Rhodes Scholar and graduate of Massey College, has been appointed lecturer in dairy husbandry at Massey College. He succeeds Dr C. P. McMeekan, who has been appointed to the chair of agriculture (animal husbandry) at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln
