THE EUROPEAN SITUATION
LONDON, December 26, 1887. The European situation is causing great uneasiness and the complicated reports which are current only add confusion to the difficulty. The Russian Government has given no assurance regarding the movement of troops in Poland through Prince Lobanoff, the Russian Ambassador to the Court of Vienna, nor has any explanation been given to General Schweinitz or Count Wolkenstein, the German and Austrian Ambassadors at St. Petersburg.
