POURING FROM CAN

THE CORRECT PROCEDURE. Now that not a few motorists have found it expedient to carry, or have, spare tins of petrol and oil. quite a number of owners must learn the coricct method of pouring without splashing petrol. The correct method is to hold the can so that the orifice is at the top side, not at the bottom. Held in this way, air can (low in as the petrol runs out, and a steady stream is the result. If the can is held with the orifice at the bottom edge, the air is "gulped” in. causing the outflowing petrol to surge, and much will be spilt unless a largo funnel is used.
