PEDAL CONTROL

CAR OF THE FUTURE. There are experts who believe that it is only a matter of time for motorvehicles to have only two control pedals, one to make the vehicle go, and the other to make it stop. It is beyond question that the system now in vogue, which calls for a driver to lift his foot from one pedal and place it on another before an effort can be applied to the brakes, is capable of improvement. Two pedal control, with one foot resting lightly on the brake pedal all the time, would certainly cut down the time lag in application of brakes, a factor which often means in an emergency the difference between safety and an accident.
