OBSTACLES TO PEACE
DE VALERA SEES LITTLE DAYLIGHT REFERENCE TO UNIFICATION. REMOVAL OF LOYALISTS SUGGESTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. DUBLIN, December 14. Mr de Valera was re-elected President of the Fianna Fail at the resumption of the party’s convention today. He said: "The last war will be small compared with the present war. The Irish would pray for a quick settlement. but it is difficult, even with the best of goodwill, to indicate a method by which this could be effected. All nations might exert themselves and try to settle the conflict by a conference, but it is most difficult to prevent each nation using a threat of strength. "I wish I could speak on behalf of all Ireland. Force is being used against our unification, and the Irish should not forget it. A solution of the problem could be found by transferring British loyalists from Ulster to Britain." .
