A decree has been issued by the Reich Finance Minister, Dr Schwerinkrosigk, increasing the levy on Jewish fortunes from 20 to 25 per cent as from November 15. The original levy was to collect the fine of £80,000,000 imposed on the Jews on November 12 last year for the murder of Herr Von Rath, the German Embassy official in Paris, by the Polish Jew, Gry Pan. It is assumed that the amount of the fine collected to date has fallen considerably short of what the Nazis expected.
