NOT AN EXCITING PLACE
WRONG IDEA ABOUT HOLLYWOOD. There are apparently still some people who think Hollywood is an exciting place whore film stars jostle .one another for elbow room on one side of the street, while producers and directors pace up and down on the opposite pavement. Nothing is further from the truth, although Hollywood is still an exciting but somewhat fantastic city. You might go for days without seeing a star, because you must be adept a* i spotting him or her it you visit one of the hundreds of eating-places which I stars are likely to frequent. But even I if you do indulge in. the game of star-1 stalking, when you come upon the I "big game” in. its haunts it is just I enjoying a meal in company with the | rest of the cafe patrons. Off the screen, many of the stars I possess so little of the glamour provided by the studios —glamour which is like Cellophane put round a parcel to make it more easily salable —that they do not look "just the same off the screen as on." Most of the men do, and arc- easily recognisable away from the set, but most of the women do not.
