ROYAL SHOW

SPLENDID STOCK DISPLAY CREAM OF LIVE STOCK. MASTERTON SHEEPBREEDER SUCCESSFUL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL. December 12. At the Centennial Royal Show at Invercargill today judging was begun in the sheep, cattle and pig sections, and was well advanced at the end of the day, leaving a record entry of horses to be judged tomorow. In all sections stock are fully up to expectations, and judges commented enthusiastically on the high standard of the exhibits as being fully worthy of representing their breeds at the Royal Show. The list of Centennial Royal champions was an impressive collection of the cream of New Zcaand’s live stock. Because of floods in the North Island some of the judges were delayed and did not arrive till the middle of the afternoon after an exciting aeroplane trip through stormy conditions in the lower half of the North Island and a fast motor trip from Taieri aerodrome. For this reason judging of some sections was delayed and was not completed yesterday. However, about 1300 of 2162 entries were judged during the day. The following is the list of Royal champions for 1939. A few will not be decided till tomorrow. SHEEP.
