ANNUAL CONCERT PRESENTED DY CLEVER PUPILS. PROGRAMME THOROUGHLY ENJOYED. The Solway College Assembly Hall was comfortably filled last night despite the wet weather when the pupils presented their annual concert. The programme was one which made an immediate appeal to the audience, be- ■ ing of a particularly high standard, i The singing of the pupils was delight- • ful to listen to. The orchestra was heard to advan- . tage in Rubenstein's “Melodic in F” and "Russian Lullaby,” and showed ' the result of the excellent training they had received. Through the classics from Handel's "Largo” to Strauss’s delightful "Spring is Here” the programme presented was thoroughly appreciated by the audience. The choir and singing classes showed tone and quality in their items and the varied programme enabled this to be brought out to the full. A programme of outstanding merit was brought to a close by a splendid play in three scenes entitled "Belinda.” The acting was of a high standard, and in keeping with the other items on the programme, reflected the greatest credit upon the instructors.
