WAIRARAPA KENNEL CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Kennel Club was held last night. Mr H. Mackenzie Douglas presided over a moderate attendance. Officers were elected as follow: — Patroness, Mrs John Martin; president. Mr H. Mackenzie Douglas; executive vice-presidents, Messrs J. M. James and W. F. McLaren; hon. vice-presidents. Mrs F. Wall, Mrs S. J. Gilman, Messrs G. W. Sellar, D. B. Curry, W. H. Trengrove, H. P. Hugo, C. E. Grey, Albert Donald, C. R. P. Armstrong, Carl Larsen, C. W. LeCompte, O. G. Ellis; committee, Messrs S. D. Geary, H. K. Macintosh. R. Donald, P. Gilchrist, J. C. Holmes, F. E. Allen, G. F. Birkett; hon. auditor, Mr W. M. Sellar; hon. veterinary surgeon, Mr S. Fletcher; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs S. D. Geary. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr L. M. Roach, the retiring secretary, for his services. Messrs H. Mackenzie Douglas and S. D. Geary were appointed delegates to the New Zealand Kennel Club and the “New Zealand Fancier" was appointed the club’s official organ. The seventh annual report stated that, two functions only were held, the annual show and a ribbon parade. The annual show, held under the auspices of the Masterton A. and P. Association was a continued success and was deserving of the fullest support of club members. Although the entries for the Ribbon Parade were small, everything went off smoothly and the thanks of the club had been conveyed to Mr E. Hall for acting as judge. During the year the club lost several enthusiastic members. Messrs G. F. Hill. D. C. Webster, J. Jenkin Junr., and R. Foster. The financial statement showed a small loss on the year’s working but this, was offset by the fact that supplies of ribbons and members tickets were now held and would save further expense during the coming season. The committee asked members to use every endeavour to increase the membership of the cltib and thus bring in fresh ideas and infuse enthusiasm.
