SOCIAL EVENING
GATHERING AT COUNTRY WOMEN’S CLUB. A most enjoyable social evening was held at the Country Women's Club last week when members entertained their husbands and friends. The rooms were beautifully decorated with spring flowers. The hostesses were Mesdames Eric Shaw and P. G. Ramsay, and Misses M. I. Wiggins and M. E. Allan. Much appreciated musical items were given by the following: Miss N. Boddington and Mr Cecil Torr (vocal solos), Mr Harry Hall (humorous songs), Miss Jean Douglas (recitations) and Solway College Old Girls’ Choir (part songs). Mrs H. M. Morton was the accompaniste. Another attraction was a one-act play produced by Miss Jean Douglas. Those taking part were Misses Nora Ractliffe and Jean Douglas and Messrs J. Kennedy and T. E. Handcock. Competitions were won by Miss N. Boddington and by Mr Murray Ross.
