COSTUMING A FEATURE
IN “PRIVATE LIVES.” Costuming is a feature in the Thespians’ production of “Private Lives,” to be staged in the Masterton Opera House on Saturday next under the auspices of the Little Theatre Society. In the first act. the sophisticated bride. Amanda Prynne, played by Miss Lesley Jackson, appears slim and soignee in a white satin negligee, and with her modern astrakhan-curled upswept coiffure. She later dons a slim model evening gown of grey chiffon shot with mauve, with sunray pleated skirt, and slender diamante-studded shoulder straps. In the second act, Amanda wears pyamas of copper’ brown satin, with threequarter length coat of honey gold belted in brown. Iler green boudoir slippers are a contrast. In the final scene she wears a smart travelling costume—a French-grey skirt, and long-waisted tailored coat checked in green and orange, with grey Edwardian straw hat and accessories.
