Mrs W. H. Saunders and family, of Essex Street, Masterton, spent the weekend at Paekakariki. Miss R. Jones, of Wellington, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr and Mrs H. J. Jones, Renall Street, Masterton. Mrs Gordon and Miss Gordon, of Ashburton, who have been on a visit to Masterton, returned home on Saturday. A message from Chicago states that the United States tennis player Bobby Riggs, has married 21-year-old Catherine Ann Fischer, a manufacturer’s daughter. Mr Minogue, Postmaster at Hastings, with Mrs Minogue and their son, are visiting Masterton and are staying with Mr Minogue’s aunt, Mrs E. A. Collie, Third Street. Lansdowne. Visitors to Masterton for the Coleman —Crookenden wedding on Saturday were Mrs McClymont, Mrs Aldred and Miss Bale (Auckland), Mrs Stewart and Miss Cherry Stewart (Redwood’s Valley. Nelson), Mrs Currie, Mr and the Misses Lowes (Wellington), Mrs Toms (Lower Hutt), Mr and Mrs Olivant (Eketahuna), and Miss J. Goldsbury (North Canterbury).
