- WAIRARAPA A GRADE MATCH. MASTERTON BEAT MEMORIAL. An A grade tennis match between the Masterton and Memorial clubs, which was interrupted by rain the previous Saturday, was completed last Saturday, Masterton winning by 15 matches to 9. B GRADE COMPETITIONS. CARTERTON DEFEAT KURIPUNI. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the Carterton courts on Saturday the Carterton B grade team defeated Kuripuni by 13 matches to 11, after a very interesting contest. The result was in doubt until the final match of the day, and as Carterton won this by the close score of 8-7, the excitement ran high. The detailed results are as follow (Carterton players being mentioned first in each case):— Men’s singles: A. D. Taylor lost to H. Vollheim, 6/9, A. Krahagen lost to P. Clarke, 5/9; C. In a B grade contest Masterton beat Memorial by 14 matches to 9 or by 162 games to 147. One match was unfinished. Memorial C beat Greytown C by 18 matches to six.
