RIFLE SHOOTING
MASTERTON-OPAKI CLUB. WIN FOR RIFLEMAN KUMMER. Conditions were good for the continuance of the Masterton-Opaki Rifle Club’s competitions on Saturday and scores were good. Rifleman W. Kummer obtained another win. This rifleman is in exceptionally fine form at present and should he retain this form he will be one of the favourites on the first field day. The veteran, Rifleman R. J. King,' showed that he is still able to place his shots in the centre, his possible at 500yds being a good effort. Rifllcman H. King, with a possible at 600yds, demonstrated that he is gradually striking form. Rifleman T. Oakley is another member who is gradually getting into form and will no doubt be heard of on field day. Rifleman H. K. Smith showed a return to form with 101, including a possible at the 500yds. Rifleman J, W. Curtin, last year’s champion, has not been showing the best of form lately. There was a much better attendance of riflemen than usual and the committee would like to see a full attendance of members on December 17 when shooting will commence at 8 a.m. sharp.
