METHODIST JUNIOR CHOIR
SPECIAL MUSICAL SERVICE. The talented members of the junior choir of the • Methodist Church in Masterton brought their work for the year to a very practical conclusion on Sunday evening when some 80 members occupied the choir stalls and presented a splendid musical service. In spite of the torrential rain at the time the congregation filled the church and listened with close attention to the excellent singing of the children in both concerted and group items. The Rev Frederick J. Parker conducted the service, being assisted by Master Colin Lyttle, who recited the Scripture portion. Mr Parker gave a brief, stirring address on the subject, •‘lt is Tone That Makes Music,” bring'ng out in bold challenge the one way in which true “tone” can be brought back into this world of war and strife. At the close of the service Mr Parker paid a well-deserved tribute 'to he outstanding work of Miss Ivie Donald as conductor, to Miss Constance Donald, L.R.S.M. as organist, and to Miss Elsie Donald as leader, mentioning how their devoted efforts had brought the junior choir to the premier position in the Methodist Church in New Zealand. A tribute was also paid to the boys and girls of the choir for their splendid work right through the year, their good attendmce, and their splendid behaviour, ittainments which had been eulogised by visitors to the church from all over New Zealand.
