Over fifty people were injured when two trams collided with terrific force at Moore Park, in the city, late last night. Thirty-four people were taken to hospital for treatment and eight were admitted. Ambulance officers found the injured lying in the darkness amid wreckage and splintered glass. Both trams were crowded and when one crashed into the rear of the other, many passengers were thrown from their seats to the roadway. Several were hurled through panes of glass dividing the compartment. In addition to ambulances, taxis were requisitioned to rush the injured to hospital.
