Cardinal Hinsley (Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster) broadcasting, said: “I am convinced that Britain is fighting for the defence of the things of the spirit, for justice, and for freedom. Liberty is impossible in Russia and in Germany. Thirty-seven million Catholics live in Germany. They and the Evangelical Confessional Church are among Nazism’s principal victims. Those who take the sword for lust of power, for racial and property aims shall perish." ___
