TROTSKY TO TESTIFY
BEFORE UNITED STATES COMMITTEE. STALINS ALLEGED SCHEMES OF PENETRATION. WASHINGTON, December 6. Mr Dies announced that he woidd probably ask M. Leon Trotsky to testify before the Dies Committee in January, near the Mexican border, with regard to Communist activities in Latin America. He alleged that he had information that M. Stalin was "seeking a foothold in Mexico and other Latin American countries to distract the United States from the European situation and give him a free rein in Europe."
