' Mrs Mary Jane Warren, wife of Mr J. Warren, Waipukurau, has died at the age of 87 years. It was her pride that she had never had cause to seek medical aid for herself. She was born in Devon. England, in 1852. Following on her marriage, in her early twenties, she came to New Zealand with her husband in the ship Assaye, the journey occupying 17 weeks. They landed at Auckland in 1874. Mr Warren joined the Railways Department, and they lived- in several centres, reaching Waipukurau in 1909. Last August they celebrated their sixtyfifth wedding anniversary. In a fortnight Mrs Warren would have reached her eighty-eighth birthday.
