GERMAN LINER
CAPTURED IN THE SOUTH ATLANTIC. CREW ATTEMPT TO SCUTTLE SHIP. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, December 6. The naval authorities at Cape Town announce that the 7.834 tons German liner Ussukuma, which left Lourenco Marques before the war has been captured by a British warship in the South Atlantic despite an attempt by the crew to scuttle her. SALVAGE POSSIBLE. THIRD CAPTURE IN REGION IN TEN DAYS. (Received This Day. 10.45 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, December G. The Ussukuma may be salvaged and taken to a port. This is the third German liner captured in the same region within ten days.
