JOHNSONVILLE SALE. READY DEMAND FOR ALL CLASSES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. A small yarding of cattle and an average yarding of sheep were offered at the Johnsonville stock sale yesterday. No extra prime heavy bullocks came forward, the yarding consisting chiefly of light to mediumweight cattle. All classes met with a ready sale, with no alteration in prices. The yarding of cows and heifers was of exceptionally good quality; extra prime cattle sold at prices slightly firmer than last week, and prime quality cows met with a good demand at prices slightly easier. Light and unfinished cows were down 5s to 10s a head. No prime quality vealers came forward, the yarding comprising small calves, which met with little demand. Only a few pens of extra heavy wethers came forward, the balance of the yarding being of light to mediumweight sheep. Prime quality wethers met with a good demand at late rates, and unfinished sheep were easier by Is to Is Gd. The few pens of prime quality hoggets met with keen competition, with prices firm; lightweight hoggets and unfinished sorts were not wanted. The yarding of ewes consisted chiefly of heavyweight sheep, with a few pens of lightweight and poorer sorts. Extra good ewes met with a ready sale, prices showing little alteration; unfinished sheep were slightly easier. There was a good demand for spring lambs, and prices showed little alteration.

The following were prices realised:— Cattle: Prime extra heavy bullocks, £l5 to £l3 ss, prime heavy £l3 to £l2 10s, mediumweight £l2 to £lO 10s, light and unfinished £lO to £9 ss; extra prime heavy cows and heifers, £lO to £8 12s 6d, prime heavy £8 to

£7 10s, cows and heifers, £G 18s to £5 2s, small calves, 31s to 13s.

Sheep: Prime extra heavy wethers, 24s to 21s Gd, prime heavy 21s to 20s. medium 19s 8d to 18s 3d; prime extra heavy ewes, 19s to 18s Gd, prime heavy 17s 3d to 16s 2d, medium, 15s lOd to 12s Gd; heavy hoggets, woolly 28s 3d to 2Gs 2d, shorn 22s 8d to 20s: light hoggets, 19s 3d to 18s; heavy spring lambs, 23s 6d to 21s Gd, medium 20s to 18s, light 16s 3d to 15s. ADDINGTON SALE. WETHER PRICES EASIER. CHRISTCHURCH. December 6. Values for fat stock eased at Addington today. The store sheep yarding included sheep from the Chathams. On the whole, average wethers were easier by Is to Is 6d a head. A line of wethers from the Chathams made 24s 9d, and local wethers showing condition made 16s. A truck lot of ewe hoggets made 29s 6d. Spring lambs sold keenly, medium and light prime sorts making 9d or more a lb. The fat sheep entry totalled about 4750. The sale opened firmly for all classes, but in the final stages there was a slight easing. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 35s 7d; prime heavy, 29s Gd to 31s Gd; prime medium, 26s to 295; light, to 21s; extra prime heavy ewes, to 32s 4d; prime heavy, 24s to 26s Gd; prime medium. 21s to 23s 6d; light, 12s to 16s. Three hundred and fifty fat cattle were forward, as compared with the 414 of a week ago. Prime steers showed a slight easing in the final stages, and average cattle were unchanged. a head. Baconers were forward in medium numbers, and the sale was slightly firmer than a week ago. Choppers were also in medium supply, though values showed an easing. Choppers made £2 3s fid to £4 8s fid; porkers, £1 14s Cd to £2 14s fid, an average price a lb of Gid to 7d; baconers, £2 17s fid to £4 14s Cd, an average price a lb, of C.'d to G.?d. MASTERTON SALE. FAT SHEEP MAKE LATE RATES. The Associated Auctioneers Ltd report:—A small entry of stock canie forward at the Masterton sale yesterday. Fat sheep made late rates. Partically no store sheep were yarded. A few were offered and made late market values. The following are realisations: —Fat woolly ewes 20s, to 21s 9d.
