U.S. COMMUNIST CHARGED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. NEW YORK, December 5. Robert Wiener, national treasurer of the United States Communist Party, was charged today with falsely procuring a passport. He pleaded not guilty. Bail was allowed in 10,000 dollars. The prosecutor alleged he is Russianborn, and that he masqueraded for 20 years as a United States citizen, although still an alien. The secretary of the party, E. Browder. is at present awaiting trial on a similar charge.
