MAGNETIC MINE DANGER ACCORDING TO SIR J. SIMON. TRIBUTE TO THE ALLIED FORCES. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. PARIS, December 4. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir John Simon, broadcasting in French, said: “I am having a conference with the French Finance Minister, M. Reynaud, concerning closer economic cooperation not only for the war but foi the future." Sir John Simon paid a tribute to France's mobilisation of 5,000.000 men. of whom 3.500.000 were under arms. He also paid a tribute to the superiority of the British and French ait forces and navies and added: "We can affirm confidently that we are coming to the end of the new danger of magnetic mines.’’
