BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY
BUSINESS AT THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Masterton Beautifying Society was held last night. There were present Messrs H. E. Gardner, C. L. Needham, A. J. Towns, H. M. A. Major. J. M. Lawson. A. Keith. J. Logan. N. G. Whiteman. — Playstead, S. V. Gooding, and A. W. Reynolds. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring secretary, Mr A. W. Reynolds, and appreciation was expressed of his excellent services. It was decided to hold a meeting early in January to formulate plans for the ensuing year. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Dr Archer Hosking; president. Mr E. W. Payton; vice-presidents, Miss F. T. Maunsell, Messrs H. E. Gardner and E. Norman; hon secretary, Mr J. Lawson; treasurer. Mr H. M. A. Major: committee, Messrs H. P. Glen. L. Robinson, Playstead. Logan. Keith. F. Daniell. Towns. Needham, and A. W. Reynolds. with power to add.
